V01 Amalie Vest, Sashiko & Recycled Wool
Crafted from sashiko, indigo-dyed cotton and recycled wool, the Amalie reversible vest embodies sophistication, comfort, and function.
Rooted in tradition, sashiko, meaning "little stabs" in Japanese, originated in 17th-century rural Japan as a method to reinforce and repair workwear.
This technique, using white thread on indigo-dyed fabric, transformed necessity into artistry, turning everyday garments into expressions of resilience and craftsmanship. Each stitch tells a story, preserving a history where no two pieces are ever alike.
Designed for versatility, the Amalie features two angled front pockets and a plush, recycled wool bouclé on the reverse, arranged in symmetrical panels that curve inward toward the torso.
Admired for its beauty, sashiko textiles continue to evolve. With time, the indigo deepens, enhancing the fabric’s character and making each vest uniquely its own.
This textile is woven on a small, rural farm in Japan, and each Amalie vest is crafted with care in New York.
